SAB 2002 Workshop
Peter Matins is seen rehearsing students in his original ballet Les Gentilhommes for the School of American Ballet's 2002 Workshop Performances. It may be Arron in the background of this shot. That year was one of the last we do not have photos regularly in digital format so I scanned some in (can be seen at this link) from the evening of the performance. It's hard to believe it wasn't even 10 years ago.

Maria
Arron was one of Maria's first baby sitters. I helped him learn to change her diaper and he never tired of playing with her and reading her books. It was a month after this photo that Arron moved to New York as a student at the School of American Ballet.Maria took it hard. She wouldn't let anyone bring up Arron's name nor the name of the city to which he had moved. It was really difficult when she was at the ballet studio where her mom, Vicky, and I both worked. People were constantly asking me for updates on how Arron was doing. This was around the same time the first Harry Potter movie debuted and Vicky and I took to referring to Arron as "he-who-shall-not-be-named" or "Lord Voldemort".
