Seasonal Pitfalls

Spring brings this area many insect hatches, occasional flooding and the beginnings of poison ivy. Summer here can be hot, dry and plays host to of Arts Festival traffic. Autumn blows in leaves to rake, egocentric student pedestrians and more cars onto the local roads. Winter in State College can bring downed limbs, slick roads and power outages.

Each season has a new laundry list of things to worry about but I absolutely love living in an area that offers a sample of what each season can offer. There is so much good to be had from living in a climate where you can notice and appreciate the turning of the year. With a sore back from already hefting many heavy loads out of my yard this autumn, I find myself grinning at the next thing nature has thrown my way. Bring it — I love it all.
